here i am to worship
One of my favorite worship songs is “Here I am to Worship” by Tim Hughes. Here is a short interview on worshiptogether.com’s Newsong Café where he talks a little bit about the song and goes through the chord progression so we can learn how to play the song. Take a look…
Here are the song lyrics.
words & music by Tim Hughes
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with YouHere I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to meKing of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in Heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love’s sake became poorI’ll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

beautiful Lord
Leeland was on worshiptogether’s Newsong Café some time ago. I was listening to the CD and thought what a great worship song. Take a look…
Here are the song lyrics.
words & music by Leeland
When the storm is raging all around me
You are the peace that calms
My troubled sea
And when the cares of this world
Darken my day
You are the light that shines
And shows me the wayOh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for me!Beautiful Lord
Awesome and mighty
I’m captured by this love I see
Beautiful Lord
Tender and holy
Your mercy brings me to my knees
It’s Your mercy that has made me free
Beautiful LordWhen my sin is all that I can see
Your grace remains the shelter that I seek
And when my weakness is all I can give
Your gentle Spirit gives me strength again
And oh, the beauty of Your majesty
On the cross You showed Your love for meAnd I am lifted by Your love to sing!
It’s Your mercy that has made me free! You’re beautiful, my Lord
You’re beautiful, my Lord

open the eyes of my heart
What an amazing way people write songs. Paul Baloche is one of the most prolific songwriters of our day. In this video he explains how he came up with the song “Open the Eyes of My Heart” during a prayer and worship service. May we all be free to worship the Lord in the way he explains in this video.
You can access many of his songs (lyrics, chords, band charts, lead sheets) by clicking on this link: http://www.leadworship.com/resources/songbook.html

how great is our God
Every now and then a song is written that spans the globe and traverses any limits of our humanity. Such is the song “How Great is our God”. I don’t know if the writers sat down and intentionally set out to write one of the most powerful songs of our generation but it has become that. The reason for that… this is one of those songs that point us back to the fact that God is above all. He is a great God. A God worthy of all our praise. He is blessed when we are reminded of that fact through worship. Here are the song lyrics.
The splendor of a King, Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice, All the earth rejoice.
He wraps himself in light, And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice, And trembles at his voice.
How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God,and all will see
How great, How great is our God.
Age to age he stands, And time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End.
The Godhead, Three in one, Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb, The Lion and the Lamb.
Name above all names, Worthy of our praise
And my heart will sing how great is our God
words & music: Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, Ed Cash

mystery of mercy
Caedmon’s Call
I am the woman at the well, I am the harlot
I am the scattered seed that fell along the path
I am the son that ran away
And I am the bitter son that stayed
I am the angry man who came to stone the lover
I am the woman there ashamed before the crowd
I am the leper that gave thanks
But I am the nine that never came
My God, my God why hast though accepted me
When all my love was vinegar to a thirsty King?
My God, my God why hast though accepted me
It’s a mystery of mercy and the song, the song I sing

Worship the Lord
written by Al Gordon
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness
With awe and with reverence, bow to adore
You are my Lord, you are my holiness
Jesus my righteousness,
I worship you Lord
I’m living for your glory
I’m living for the name above all names
No one else is worthy
No one else can ever take your place
I worship you Lord in beautiful holiness
Lifting up reverence, I bow to adore
I give you my all, surrendering everything
My everyday offering: to worship you Lord
I’m living for your glory…
You are high and lifted up
High and lifted up
High and lifted up

The Hands of the Potter
Caedmon’s Call
Lord if i’m the clay
Then i’ve been left out in the sun
Cracked and dry, like the mud from the sty
Still clinging to the prodigal son
But I’m on my way back home
Yes I’m on my way back home
Into the hands (into the hands)
That made wine (wine) from the water
Into the hands (into the hands)
The hands of the potter
Lord if i’m the clay then
Let your living water flow
Soften up my edges, lord,
So everyone will know
But i’m on my way back home
Yes i’m on my way back home
And Lord, when you listen for the song of my life
Let it be, let it be, a song so sweet
Let it be, let it be, a song so sweet
Let it be…Lord, if i’m the clay then lay me down
On your spinning wheel
Shape me into something you can fill
With something real
And I’ll be on my way back home
Yes i’m on my way back home

Rescue
written by Jared Anderson
You are the source of life
I can’t be left behind
No one else will do
I will take hold of You
‘Cause I need You Jesus, to come to my rescue
Where else can I go?
There’s no other name by which I am saved
Capture me with grace, I will follow You
My heart is Yours for life
I need Your hand in mine
No one else will do
I put my trust in You
This world has nothing for me
I will follow You
This world has nothing for me
I will trust in You
